Dr. Nayeem Ahmad Bhat earned his B.Sc. (2005), LL.B. (2010), PGDCL (2011), LL.M. (2014), and Ph.D. (2021) from the University of Kashmir. He qualified the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) in 2011 and prestigious UGC NET/JRF examination in the year 2013. He also worked as an investigator on a UGC Major Research Project on Panchayati Raj Institutions during 2016–17. He served as a Lecturer at Vitasta College of Law and Humanities from 2019 onwards and as an Assistant Professor at the School of Legal Studies, Central University of Kashmir in 2022. Dr. Nayeem further worked as an Assistant Professor at the School of Law, University of Kashmir from 2022 to 2024. He also served as an Assistant Professor at Faculty of Law, SGT University in the year 2025 before rejoining the University of Kashmir in the year 2026. He has published over 25 research papers in various national and international journals and has attended and presented over 20 papers at seminars and workshops at both national and international levels. He has also to his name an edited book on new labour codes titled as "Codifiying Labour Welfare : An analysis of India's New Labour Regime published by Crestwood Publishers in the year 2026.
