a) Computer Lab.

The Department  of Law has a well established computer lab with 30 systems with internet facility. The students are encouraged to avail the internet facility .  All the computers have latest configuration. Mr. Reyaz Ahmad Mir  is the incharge of the Computer Lab. In addition, wifi (KULAW) is available to the student 24x7.


b) Student Guidance Cell


The Department has established the Student Guidance Cell for providing coaching and guidance to the students for competitive examinations especially for judicial services. The establishment of the Cell has proved to be a successful step.Apart from the students of Department of law, a number of students from other Departments avail the opportunity and seek guidance from the senior faculty members. A brief profile of successful students is given in the Brochure. Prof. Fareed Ahmad Rafiqi along with other teachers provide consultancy and guidance to the students on regular and voluntary basis.


c) Moot Court


The faculty has a moot court of medium size with moderate facilities. The local moot courts are organized on regular basis. Moot court, in fact is a part of the curriculum.The Faculty proposes to organize National Moot Court Competition in the month of September 2011. Dr. Farid A. Rafiqui is incharge of the National Moot Competition.


d) Legal Aid Camp


Senior students of the Faculty go to the remoter areas of the State with a view to create awareness about their various rights, Socio- economic welfare legislations and help them in drafting applications, petitions to seek their entitlements from administrative and other agencies. Students help the villagers by bringing their socio-legal problems to the notice of concerned authorities and in settling village disputes especially those relating to weaker sections of the society in regard to their legal entitlements under social welfare legislations.


e) Mediation


Forty students from the Department have gone to different villages and mediated fifty matrimonial disputes in 2011-12.


f) Para Legal Services


Sixty three students from the Department are on rolls of J&K High Court Legal Services Committee as Para- legals. The Department has a target of involving all the students from 4th semesters of LL.B and B.ALL.B courses in para-legal services to be organized by the J&K State Legal Services Authority at Tehsil, District and State level during 2011-12.The Legal Aid Clinic has a Vehicle with a capacity of 35 seats to carry the students to far-flung areas to promote legal literacy.

The senior faculty members of the Department Dr. Mohammad  Ayub Dar, Dr. Beauty Bandy and Ms. Shanaz Noor are incharge teachers of the Legal Aid Clinic.
